A product with a layered or sheet structure composed of two or more different types of materials, at least one of which is geosynthetic (geotextile, geogrid, geont, geomembranes or other geosynthetic product). Using geocomposites aims to achieve better performance than when geosynthetic materials are used individually.
Geocomposites are a dual combination of several geotextiles, geogrids, geonets, or geomembranes. The Geocomposite feature is a combination of the sheets used in its construction and is produced in a more efficient way and at a lower cost than the simultaneous use of the mentioned products. In general, geocomposites have impermeability, drainage, filtration, and soil hardening applications.
Advantages and reasons of using geomembrane geocomposite (geotextile)
Protection of the geomembrane layer against perforation
Increasing the resistance of geomembranes to the application of static or dynamic mechanical forces
Increased geomembrane resistance to rupture
Increase geomembrane friction to prevent slipping and slipping
Higher tensile strength than geomembranes
Speed in installation compared to the separate structure of each
